M-7 started taking piano lessons the week she turned 7 (which was the end of Feb.). She kept asking for piano lessons for her birthday and would sit down and play several times a day. Now that the harsh reality of practice has come into her life, we need to get creative. We've tried a bean jar (fill it up/get a treat), index cards, wailing and
gnashing of teeth from mommy..alas. Practice time is not a fun time. One day she asked if she could wear sunglasses while she practiced. Hey, whatever works!

Hey! My little one has that shirt! Whatever works is right! I can't believe how hard it is to get them to sit at the piano!
Whatever works! lol- My friend has a "tips jar" on top of their piano- and anytime she hears her daughter playing without being told to practice, she'll walk in and drop a few coins in the jar.
