Sunny Jim Cave

The La Jolla coastline is riddled with sea caves. You can rent kayaks or snorkel equipment and go exploring if you are so inclined. We went to the 100 year old Cave Store just at the entrance of La Jolla Cove. We paid the $3 per kid/$4 per adult entrance fee and descended the 145 steps down the slippery, rickety staircase. Inside the cave the echo of the barking Harbor Seals was really loud. It was pretty cool. You can see that the mouth of the cave looks like the profile of a man with a sharp beard and cowlick. His name is Sunny Jim!
