One day I was walking in the field and noticed a bunch of bones scattered under a large palm tree.
Lots of little skulls....
A closer look at the surrounding area showed lots and lots of owl pellets littering the ground!
Owl pellets have intrigued me for years and finding an owl pellet is like finding a treasure!
We have lots of owls around here, (we love to hear them hooting at night, but are sure to have the cats inside!) but what I didn't realize is that hawks also produce pellets. Makes sense, I just never thought of it before.
Pretty cool, huh?
