It's been a tough week. My mom passed away Feb. 14th. My sister and I are planning the funeral and travel arrangements and there have been lots of phone calls and emotional conversations with friends and loved ones. To sum it up: I'm beat. My wonderful husband is in downtown the beginning of this week at a business conference. He invited me to come and stay with him Sunday night.
Our hotel room on the 8th floor overlooked the San Diego Convention Center with a view of the Coronado bridge. We walked to dinner at Flemings (we don't usually eat out on Sunday, just so you know. : ) ) and it was delicious, then we got back to our room in time to watch the last half of the season finale of Downton Abbey. Perfect.
I spent the morning lounging around the room, watching the first part of Downton that I missed, and having a comforting phone conversation with a dear, dear, long time friend~ the mother of my high school best friend.
