Reading~ M-9 has been plowing through the books the last couple of weeks. I love using the
Sonlight catalog for a book list. I was excited to have her read one of my all time childhood favorites, From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E.
Frankweiler and she surprised me by not crying at Where the Red Fern Grows!

Autumn Craft~ We created a Thankful Tree from a branch off a peach tree. We used scrapbook paper and traced leaf and acorn cookie cutters. A fun way to count our blessings by writing things we are thankful for on each leaf and acorn.

I have it in the entry way to hopefully keep the cats away from it.

M-9's GI suggested we try this guided imagery/hypnosis
cd for pain management. We listen to it at bedtime and it is really relaxing! I fall asleep every time. M-9 really looks forward to it every evening. (Note that the
cd is for
IBS, but M-9 has
IBD (Inflammatory Bowel
Disease. Similar, but not the same.)

Character and Faith~ We have been listening to Scripture Scouts and Alexander's Amazing Adventures for years! It really is a part of our family culture to listen to stories in the car and at home. My kiddos are good "listeners".

Last week
was extra busy for L-16, C-14 and P-12. It was Tech Week for our
homeschool groups fall musical, Willy
Wonka!

L-16 did a great job as Grandma Josephina! Her old age make-up looked awesome!

She was fun to watch as all of her characterization had to be done through facial expression alone.
C-14 was Assistant Stage Manager and did great! And P-12 was a wonderful member of the stage crew.

I hope the CDs will be helpful for your girl. I am using a hypnosis CD program for pregnancy and childbirth and I love it so far. I am so sorry we had to miss Willy Wonka this weekend. You know I was a little busy walking my feet off.
I do hope the cd's help. Our ds used a health and wellness cd for premature babies when he was an infant. It seemed to help him sleep better.
Blessings,
Dawn
