*Social Studies~ We discussed more about mapping and directions with Katy this week. We followed Katy's route with N,S,E,W directions. We also discussed cities and compared our city with Katy's city. We had a great time drawing out large maps on poster board and covering it with shaving cream. (Lots and lots of shaving cream!) We had our Katy's (Lego bulldozers) dig out the city from the Big Snow!
*Science~ We learned how to make a compass. We magnetized a needle, stuck two pieces of cork on the ends and floated it in water. We made two and they lined up and pointed north! Very cool!
