Copper and Silk

When we were on Whidbey Island in November, the island Waldorf school had a craft fair. Leave it to a Waldorf school to have the kids make incredible crafts such as: copper candle stick holders, beeswax candles, origami cards, wood frames decorated with bits of beach glass and other assorted materials, and the grande finale~ silk painting. It was such a popular activity that they ran out of silk before L-12 had a chance to make hers. Luckily, Paper, Scissor, Stone (one of my fave on-line retailers) had silk painting kits so I picked one up.

In the meantime, our kitchen window has been without blinds for about a year and a half. The kids were complaining of getting blinded by the sun one morning so they put the silks up. They look pretty up there and it reminded me that I wanted to blog about those Waldorf crafts.

Oh, I'm so excited to see these. Your scarfs look great!
I bought some white scarfs to do silk paining but had completely forgotten to do it.
Thanks for the reminder!
