*Language Arts~ With Mike Mulligan, we learned about fiction. We talked about how the book took place in a "not real place". We also learned about Personification (giving human qualities to non human things like Marianne the Steam Shovel). We made up a name for our car! L chose "Rollie" and pretended it was real.*Science~ We discussed steam power and made a paper windmill. We *tried* to make it move using steam from a tea kettle, but no such luck! We went on a field trip to the desert and saw lots and lots of big windmills supplying the desert valley with energy.
