What I am Listening to..
Country sounds. Birds chirping, hens clucking, rooster crowing, distant dogs barking. I woke up to a sheep baaing. My neighbor must not have fed them yet. Although, it sounds young...Maybe she brought a new one home this week end.
What I'm Eating...
At the moment, buttered popcorn and hot chocolate almond milk with a dab of three chili chocolate sauce. It's my one weakness. Other than that I joined a local CSA and have been enjoying beautifully lush, organic greens and other produce. I pick up my next share tomorrow. Can't wait!
What I am Organizing...
All of the areas in my home that have gone long unorganized. Starting with the kitchen.
What I am doing Out of Doors...
Pruning, hacking, cutting back. I hard pruned 35 rose bushes and have 10 yet to go. I am working on the butterfly bush, Pride of Madeira, lavender, took some dead wood off of some citrus, and gave anything else that needed it a hair cut. I tried pruning the peach tree before it bloomed but we'll see how that fares. I need a class! My apple tree never dropped it's leaves, so I don't know what to make of that. Spring is the first week of January here, and I already feel behind.
What I am Contemplating...
New school routines. Lots of changes around here. I am no longer doing online college courses. I took a hiatus while M-11 was in the hospital and I'm not sure when I'll start back again. I do want to, but it doesn't feel right at the time. I feel like all that I did to fill my well last spring and summer (and I did a LOT)prepared me for the hard Fall. I felt strengthened and sustained during such a difficult time. I learned a lot, not just academically, but about myself. It was very good. During that time my focus was inward and mostly on myself. Now, my focus has turned outward and on my family and home. My word for the year is Nourish. It can take on so many meanings and it's not just for me, but for them.
Picture Thought I am Sharing...
The girls are almost all laying after a slow period. We are just waiting on the Americaunas and their pretty green eggs.
