 We have two new llamas! A friend of mine needed to re-home her llamas, so how could I resist?

This is Chip.  He is an older gentleman and a retired packer.  He was not excited about his new home and was humming up a storm, but is now adjusting.

This is Cosmo.  He is the smallest llama I have ever seen and looks like he has alpaca in him, to me. He was just sheared down, so he'll look better when his wool grows out.

Cosmo isn't the most handsome llama you'll ever meet, but he makes up for it in sweetness. He is the only one that doesn't walk away when someone approaches and enjoys a good back scratch.  Nick and Salt were not impressed with their new room-mates and there was a lot of spitting going on.  Nick and Salt, who have never been super close (not like Salt and Pepper were), now stick together like brothers and hang out on the other side of the field looking like they are grumbling about the interlopers.

Fat Yellow hatched out a single adorable chick.  She has her out and about, teaching her to scratch and how to get along in the world. That mothering instinct never ceases to amaze me and I love to watch them.

Finally, we took Benjamin the goat back to his original owner and everyone is a lot happier.  He was so aggressive with the llamas and made it dangerous when it came to feeding time.  With two more llamas, we knew we had to do something.  We asked around at the feed store where he came from but they said the owner wasn't interested in taking him back.  As a last ditch effort, our llama friends said they would take him back with them when they delivered the llamas and had a place he could go.  The feed store owner literally drove up at the same time the llamas were being delivered and said he would love to take Benjamin back!  Close call!  The next morning, C-15 and I loaded him into the back of the mini van and took him home.  It took us almost an hour to move that stubborn goat and convince him to jump into the back of the van.
There are always changes on the farm.
