Struttin' Around

And speaking of beautiful birds, this is Fred our Bronze turkey.  He is such a sweetheart.  He came to us with a female (Ethel), but we lost her to a predator.

He is about 6 years old as far as we know.  The two turkeys were dropped off at the feed store and our friend there gave them to us.  It's true; we're turkey rescuers. He doesn't fan out very often, but when he does, it is a sight!  He gobbles at the trash truck and sirens and generally just walks around peacefully. He is a very sweet boy.

He hangs out with the llamas and roosts on their shelter.

They're all bachelors out there.

Here he is on a normal day when he isn't puffed up.  His snood is so funny how it goes up and down and his coloring changes with his mood.
