Turkey Shoot!

There was a nice talk and demonstration on pointing dogs. They showed us how they would track the scent, point and retrieve. Great dogs!

Tomahawk throwing!

Lighting kindling with flint and steel.

M-7 shot a turkey!

Another turkey dinner for L-13! This one with bow and arrow.

I think she looks like a competitive shooter.

It was a hit! C-11 also hit his first clay pigeon on the skeet range.

Great shot, P-9!

Every year the Wild Turkey Federation (yes, there is such a thing!) has a field day for kids at our local fish and game range. The kids love it and learn all sorts of useful things as shown in the photos. They also learned how to make a stove from a squashed soda can, made a quail call out of a clothes-pin and rubber bands and heard a talk by the wildlife services on wild animal safety.
The kids came home and made their own char cloth, lit their kindling with flint and steel and boiled some water over their soda can stove. I think they're ready for Survivor!

Looks like you had fun. I will bring my double monkey tail striker, flint, char cloth and tinder to your house to play. We can have a sparking good time and more fun.
